Project reflection

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this project. I really felt like I was free to do what I wanted without any particular boundaries. There's really nothing I would have done differently in the piece, as I accomplished what I set out to do. I put a lot of effort in the piece, and I really enjoyed it. I really enjoy doing work like this because it really expresses my feelings and thoughts about the world, society, people, etc.

Weekly breakdown/ finished product

At the end of the week, I think I have met my goals. I have added more texture and more colors throughout the piece and even made the whole scene darker than it usually was. I feel like this can go down as the final project, there isn't much else to do to it. I feel like I've done what I set out to do.

Independent project progress

weekly goal #2

This week I am planning on completing my independent project, or coming really close to doing so. So adding a little more colors and depth is what i plan on doing to add the finishing touches to the work.

So far I have been meeting my goals I have been setting. I've been adding more colors and more depth and value to the piece

Independent project weekly goals

During the week, I plan on adding more colors and values to the piece. As it looks more or less bland now, I plan on building up the depth and value of each part of the project.

Proposal / sketch

This is the sketch i want to have my final piece on. The sky is going to be a dark violet, and the snow will really start to stand out and the flame will be the focal point of the image. The flame will then lead your eye to the main character in the piece due to the light from the flame. Like my inspirational image i chose, it's going to have a rather dark but calm mood to it.

In this art piece, the artist is saying that she enjoys fantasy, horror themed stories and art. This piece is very dark and somewhat grisly. In the piece, I see a dark, demented figure that could be a demon. This piece has a mixture of gray and black to compliment the bright reds and yellows, making the figure in the piece stand out and feel more sinister. The mood is very dark, and obviously isn't joyful or gleeful. The artist might be very religious, so her beliefs could have influenced this work. There is no real significance of this artwork, other than to show off and pour her talents in. So all in all, it's just for fun. This piece is quite dark and could appeal to some, but to others, it may come off as an oddity. This piece reflects on what my independent project will be because of the general mood and color palette it uses. Mixtures of lights and dark tones are used brilliantly in this piece, which i will try to incorporate in my own art piece coming soon.
